So... Well then, yesterday I finished Bayonetta.
It was kinda weird, because I had migraine all day and at 10pm I was so tired but when I lay in bed I just couldn’t sleep. So I got up at 12:30am or something and played... I was kinda surprised that I finished it after less than two hours. Óo
I mean, I spent not more than seven hours on the complete game.
Seriously, I’m too used to JRPGs. *lol*
Anyway... Bayonetta... WTF?!
Okay, the story is confusing and I didn’t really get the whole time-past-present-father-witch-children stuff and all in all I was somewhat reminded of the Anime
"Demobane", but nonetheless it is a great game!
The gameplay is wicked awesome! And like the Game One guys said: "Wirr, aber geil!" ("Confusing, but awesome!").
The fights are so much fun and they look even better! Later you get other weapons and my favourite was "Durga" with the lightning/light ability (faster than with the fire ability), although it took some time, before I got how to change between the two attributes. *drop*
And fuck, the "Klimax" is so great when you summon these big demons and the last demon - Yes, that was kinda hot! *rofl*
Though I must say, the bosses and fights all together were a bit easy, but maybe I should play on "Hard" the next time.
I didn’t die once because my HP were empty! Do you want to know how I died?! "Quick time events"! What the shit?! I suck at quick time events and that’s still an understatement!
Groah, I just didn’t get some things or I was to slow or whatever! I didn’t die once because of low HP, I never did! Just because of this lame "now you must press the blahblah button"-shit!
And yes! I am vain if it comes to dying in games!
I mean, seriously, older games didn’t need these shit, either! Why do the developers pump their games full with this today?!
Anyway... I liked the fights and gameplay, but there a few things in this game that are... well, don’t know, how to say it...
First: There is so much fanservice in there! At first it’s kinda funny, but later it’s just ridiculous. Hell, I want to kill and batter the monsters, not to watch this bitch dance or watch close-ups of her tits and butt! Like I said, in the beginning I could laugh about it, but later it was too much. The only thing that was still cool was the Klimax stuff.
Second: The ending. I know I shouldn’t expect much from a Hack’n’Slash game in that point, but this was disappointing to say the least! Hello? Not that I was confused anyway, no, this game left me with the feeling that I seriously missed something extremely important and this is not nice and haven’t managed to do any other game to me yet. Later I just sat there and was like: "Huh? Please... repeat? Or better: Reset?"
Perhaps you have to do all the extra stuff, which I read, are a few other hours to play, but still... I mean, when I play Final Fantasy, I get the story even if I doesn’t do all the extra secrets and whatsoever.
Third: The "monsters" - Angels in this case - were absolutely awesome! They looked so great and the last boss was gorgeous!
I truly liked their design. ^^
So, last words: All in all great game, but confusing story, which - however - is not a reason not to play it! So if you like Hack’n’Slash games, and don’t care about a bit fanservice and chavvy dialogues too much, I seriously recommend this game. The fights are too much fun to reject it, just because of mentioned reasons. :p
