Drive-thru Woes
I dunno what it was about yesterday...other than it was Friday, but things just happened to occur that snowballed right into an avalanche.
The only real funny thing happened right before the shit really hit the fan. There was one guy, right after lunch started, who tried to order a 12-pack of Miller Light, and I had to disappoint the guy rather nice and easy! The horrible thing was that he was one of our regular customers who comes in at least 2-3 times a day for coffee alone, and his hands are so gnarled up, that he has a hard time picking up change and handing it out the window to me. He was either barely awake, or was still hung over from the evening before. I still haven't figured out which one yet.
The catastrophe was in the drive thru. We have one of those newer systems with dispenses the soda for us, and it completely broke down on us. The only real thing I overheard was that the motor on it had blown out, and we have to wait for a technitian to repair it, since we're not allowed to fix it on our own.
So, it was either down to the poor maintenance guy, or myself to run out to the lobby to fill out any drink orders, while fending off customers that just wouldn't stop showing up at all.
*sighs* I dunno how we're gonna handle today.
