There's a lot that's been going on in my life, I won't lie, but I'm too damn lazy to update. What's all this I hear about LiveJournal dying as well? You can't die!
Anyways, instead of posting one of my usually bitchy, complaining-filled posts, here's a conversation that happened between me and one of my seven (actually six) year old students who stuck around after class after everyone else left:
Me: It's time to go home. You can leave now.
Kevin: Jen-Teacher, I love you *hug*
Me: ....
Kevin: I won first place for first time today. I lose every day, but not today. Jen-Teacher proud?
Jeez kid, you're lucky I didn't have any sugar before class, because your sweetness would have put me in a diabetic coma.
I usually hate kids with a burning passion, but some of these punks are making it really difficult to not fall in love with them :( Kevin is actually one of my "bad" kids, but he always tries so hard to impress me, even if he drives me crazy in the process.
By the way, the whole winning thing was from us playing the dumbest game of "who can balance a ball on a spoon and walk around the room the fastest?" today (I wasn't 100% prepared when I came to class, lol). I didn't think such a small win would make him so happy, but I know he's been struggling in class some. His class is full of "cool" kids who always make fun of him and never want him on their team. Whenever I ask a student to share or help me with something, he's always the first to volunteer, and it seems like the other kids make fun of him for it. He's also a little clumsy, and his bad handwriting usually causes him to suffer whenever we play the "write that word on the board" game.
Sigh~ It's okay, Kevin :( I love you too. I'm not gonna say a bunch of crap and say this makes dealing with kids on a daily basis magically wonderful, but it does make it easier.
