I actually thought this was quite good. I loved the look into Kouichi's brain, and the thought process all made sense to me. He's so old, but how much living has he done? It's an interesting question.

The tension is so apparent in this fic - I was shivering waiting for the resolution. And I love love love the bit about forgetting the honorific. :)
