Seeing the familiar pink hair off magically manifest from thin air, his darkened blue orbs widened in shock. He had been sitting under his usual favorite tree, but now, he was slowly scrambling to his feet. Could it be? This Raikou didn't look like the other Gau had mentioned interacting with before. In fact, it almost looked as if... he just appeared.
Hearing something rustling softly in the background, Raikou froze. He was still in mission mode, his hand on the hilt of his sword. And then he saw Yoite. Raikou took a tentative step forward, then another.
"What are you doing out here, Yoite?" His hand dropped from the sword hilt, and Raikou shook his head. He knew Yoite liked to sleep in strange places, but under a tree? That was only going to make his condition worse.
"...Raikou, where did you just come from?" That was Yoite for you. Always straight to the point, ignoring others concerns for his personal safety in option of gaining reliable information. This pink haired samurai seemed somewhat guarded, as if he had been in the middle of something. Yoite's suspicions were starting to become more true as the facts fell into place. Heavily guarded, missing his otherwise constant companion. He had to find out.
"I was running an errand." Raikou knew what Yoite was getting at, and he knew Yoite knew what he had been doing. "Are you feeling all right? It's not good for you to sleep outside like that."
Avoiding his questions as usual. The pink haired man really wasn't any different than his own blond partner at times. With some effort, he made his way over to the Wakachi member, stopping short of him with a serious look reflected in his darkened orbs. "...Did you or did you not just come from Hattori's?"
Raikou kept the expression on his face soft. Yoite had to be handled carefully. He didn't move too quickly or speak too loudly. That wouldn't do when Yoite was like this. "Not directly, no. He had something for me to do." Raikou shouldn't have to spell this out. He was sent by Hattori to clean up a mess. One that didn't involve Yoite.
Watching the other mans expression for some moments, he shifted his gaze past him in thought. A mission? Was it the same one that Gau had been on, before being sent here? The way the older Wakachi member kept information hidden was unnerving. "...Gau is here, if you are the Raikou from our world. He said he was split up from you when he arrived."
He shifted his gaze back to the pink haired man, voice steady as always. "...About two months. He arrived here not long after Yukimi and I found each other. This forest is a strange place, where things happen. You should be on your guard."
Raikou frowned. He'd left Gau on his own for that long? It wasn't long before his face shifted back into casual indifference. "You don't have to tell me that, Yoite." Even though his hand had been removed from his sword, Raikou hadn't relaxed. Yoite would be able to see that, to know. "Have you been taking care of yourself?"
"...Well enough. It was hard, when we first arrived. We had to split up to cover more ground. I heard rushing water and found the source, further into the forest. Yukimi tried his hand at fishing there, without much suscess. There are also birds and rabbits. He... isn't good at making stew."
He nodded in agreement to both statements the pink haired samurai made. "...Gau wanders off from time to time. I wonder if he has found shelter like the others. We tried a make shift tent with my jacket and sticks. It wasn't the most brilliant of ideas. Yukimi couldn't even start a fire using sticks together. I had to use Kira to get it going, so we didn't starve and freeze to death out here. It's been snowing for almost a month now. Yesterday was the first time the sun has been out for more than a few hours."
Raikou nodded, thinking about this a bit more. "I'll see what I can do to help Gau out, if he hasn't found shelter yet." He tried very hard not to laugh at the thought of Yoite and Yukimi trying to make a tent in such a way, but it didn't work. Instead, he covered his mouth with his hand to try and hide it, but that didn't really work out so well either.
Upon hearing that Yoite was forced to use Kira just to stay alive, Raikou frowned. "We'll just have to find you something better than that, won't we?" He didn't want to shorten Yoite's lifespan anymore than it already was, for any reason.
[When he heard the snicker, he eyed the pink haired man for a moment. Their plight really was laughable, even to him. They had looked absolutely ridiculous, but desperate times called for desperate measures. And by now, he was used to using Kira just to stay alive. It was something he had been relying on since he learned the forbidden technique.] "...Don't trouble yourself. We've managed this long."
[Raikou sighed and shook his head.] "You know what it does to you. You should be careful how much you use it." [It was true. Yoite was no good to anyone if he was dead. In Raikou's eyes, Yoite was a person, not just a tool to be used. He didn't know if Yoite would understand that if he told him.]
