Love this cap.

Three things that bothered me about this episode before I figured them out:

+ Why did we brush Dean whaling on Sam under the rug? (Because Dean is pushing things down as usual, like Lisa said; because Cas really doesn't function on that wavelength; and SAM CAN'T CARE. D;) Something is broken there and it's not Sam's nose.

+ Why are we torturing all the black guys? (Except Rufus.) I can't speak for the child in 6x02, but if Alpha Vampire has been around that long, well. He would be black, now wouldn't he. Niiiiice, Show! Good catch.

+ Yeah okay I forgot the third one. Well anyway. THERE IS SO MUCH ALISTAIR THIS SEASON. AND HE'S NOT EVEN HERE. XP Suddenly we are really okay with torture; yeah, looking at you, Dean, with the totally not hesitating before pushing the magical electric lever.

The vampire invasion reminded me intensely of The End, too! It makes me wonder if they used the same location; regardless of that fact, it was eerily similar. When you think about it--that was a possible 2014!future. This is presently a 2011!future, and the same events are playing themselves out, at their base level, Apocalypse or not. Which, not gonna lie, kind of jazzes me about what they're planning to do in terms of character arcs this season.

It took me a while, but I kinda dig the Campbells. New ships this season:

Bela/Crowley/Balthazar
Dean/Christian
Meg/Gwen
Samuel/hair

And you mentioned that line about Sam not sleeping--

It certainly adds another layer of meaning to Dean's whole "Up until recently I wanted to kill him in his sleep" line from 6x06.

GAH I LOVE THIS EPISODE IN SO MANY WAYS. Not really as a watch over and over again kind of way, because it was more plot-important than it was a self-contained case, but definitely very important, narrative-wise.

Also +1 Agree to all of your above analyses/observations/squee. Except that F U DEAN part at the beginning. BEGONE, ESG. XDDDDDDDDDDD
