season 3 [supernatural, tv, public post]

This will be my last uncut Supernatural post, because season 4 is too current to spoil.

So. Season 3.

WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU JENSEN?!?!?!

Half the season you were off your game! You were looking more constipated than anguished! Wrong timing, wrong tone, where the hell was your director to tell you to do it again?! It was honestly painful to watch. Thank goodness you pulled yourself together at the finale. Gah.

Jared, on the other hand. OMG SAM.

Sam got so much development this season and it was ♥. His desperation came across as so, so real, and you could see how he shut himself off from Dean and how he tried to be all comforting and reassuring and failing, because Dean was trying to be all those things at the same time too and FAILING. Ohman, there was so much Winchester!fail in this season, and it was HEARTBREAKING.

Script writers did an awesome job not showing how Sam changed post 3x11 {"Mystery Spot". Y'know, the episode that broke Sam} and not drawing attention to the carnage. The two times they put him to the test -- the virgin sacrifice in 3x12 and the mad scientist in 3x15 -- Dean was there to be incredulous at him and make him cut it out. The rest of the time, Sam wasn't in any position to act all vengeance-y, and that REALLY PROVES MY POINTS THAT 1) Dean is Sam's conscience, 2) Sam's more dependent on Dean than Dean is on Sam 3) Sam's more broken than broken, 4) Sam's just a lost little boy who loves his brother. :(

My favouritest episodes were 3x06 and 3x02. The first because of Bella and its hilariousness, the second because of Ben Braeden and Dean interacting with kids. The whole episode I REALLY wanted Lisa to come out and say 'He's your son!'.

Another bad point to the show, at the moment, is how it took a turn to the grotesque. Dude, I DO NOT WANT TO SEE A FINGERNAIL BEING TAKEN OUT. And then there was the mad scientist episode. Seriously, GROSS. And it's only going to get worse from now on, isn't it?
