Hmmmm, yeah, I can see what you mean. But I can't seem to find anything wrong with the style sheet, & the one you're using is the same as the one at randomnessicons. Could it have anything to do with the fact that it's a community and not simply a journal? It sort of looks like there's meant to be another sidebar there or something, but I still think your community looks really good :)
I think if it's a community, you have to have the username of whoever posted the entry.
I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help. I'm pretty hopeless at managing communities & stuff; they're too confusing for me :P
The only thing I can think of is maybe asking over at everything_lj. The people over there seem to know everything :)
