I know I'm very late; the last few days simply went by too fast! I hope to catch up with comments this weekend.

More drawing is what I'm hoping to do this month, but using colour more often than only graphite. My first idea for today, which seemed small when I thought about it, turned out to be too ambitious. So, I scaled it down to a geranium petal and a jasmine leaf. I was trying to get the colour of both, but also show shape with the shading and the colour in their shadows. Neither really worked, I'm afraid. Still, this is what I did:

:-D (I think the scan is flattering.) Now to see if I can work up to a whole flower at some point.

But they are wonderfully coloured and shaded! I can see that typical structure of geraniums petals, really fantastic!

I kept going over the colours with different shades and white and then erasing and so forth. Eventually, the colours were fairly close to what I wanted, but, of course, the actual petal was much better!!

I like it! The colours are wonderful, simple and innocent but lovely.
