I like using silent film stills for icons; because they had to exaggerate emotions to get them across without sound, they come over well in tiny pictures. (okay, I also like them because they're old and I like old:) Here are six, the first three including silent film card text... simply because.

I love them! Immediately, I was thinking of my favourite silent films I used to see in an old cinema with my brother every Sunday morning. I was about 5 years old but I loved these!!!
Perfect design, really delightful!

They're so dramatic, and work perfectly with the color tones. Nice touch using silent-style captions.

Yes! Their expressions are perfect for iconage, and your captions just make them even more perfecter. ;^)
