FOR ART! Involving MAD SCIENCE!

Anyone have any experience with electroplay? Anyone know anyone into electroplay?

Are y'all/they willing to answer questions about what that feels like?

Stuff I have experienced:Mild charge from a hand-held defense device (I hesitate to call it a taser, because it was nowhere near that scary). Felt like tattoo ( Read more... )

Sci-Fi, yes, but check out the references to actual experiments involving this principle.

Why fool around with the peripherals when you can just go straight to the pleasure centers?

They actually have remote-triggered "neural-induction conditioning collars" that provoke pleasure or pain, which is great for not having to touch them to reward/punish them, but not so great for directed stimulation.

I'm specifically looking for BDSM-style electroplay mixed in with sex.

Brain probes = cringe-inducing. I am filing that away for the really crazy doctor. That'd be a deeply unpleasant threat.

That aside, I wish to fuck I could have a brain implant to stop the depression. That'd be swell. At one point I would have said it wasn't worth having a hole drilled in my skull. Now, I'm thinking it sounds pretty good. DAMMIT, FUTURE, WHERE ARE YOU?!

Research in that area is ongoing, with some researchers reporting remarkable results. If I was looking at that sort of depression myself, I might even consider looking around for a study to volunteer for as a lab-rat ( ... )

AHAHA! I believe you have it EXACTLY.

I actually DID look for studies recently. Nothing closer than, like, Bethesda. >:(

:) I've always preferred the urbane and polite but utterly ruthless villains.

Any malign thug can break bones and burn orphanages, it takes a true Villain to do it with STYLE.

as for studies....there's this: http://www.broadenstudy.com/

Looks to be a national study, with one of the centers being in Dallas, Texas. Not so far away from Oklahoma as Bethesda.

I don't know if this is something you could do, or would want to, but I thought I'd mention it just in case.

Dunno about lab-ratting, but a couple of the studies that hit my radar a bit back - I was digging at electro-stim via acupuncture, and ran across some of the fibromyalgia studies which were turning out some tangential effects in reduction of depression:

(Suggestive of effect)

(Suggestive of non-effect)

I know there was a non-pay-for option to that one. Hmph.
