Health crap accomplished.

Well, my doctor is back in practice, temporarily housed in a small clinic but soon to move to his own place. This is fantastic news. This is the doctor who, when I couldn't pay for meds, made sure I had samples to get me through. He's a good guy. Seeing him again was very nice, even though I'd just gotten up and was super-groggy ( Read more... )

I know, right? I think I just want to watch him make out with . . . well . . . anyone, really. Or watch Rhona Mitra a la Doomsday beat his ass. But that might just be me. . . .

I'm glad you were able to see the Doc and get some of this stuff looked at. *hugs*

Did you see Doc Wolf there? :)

Didn't see anyone there but the receptionist, the tech, and the doc. I was in the Courage Wolf room, though, with all the wolf pictures. I lol-ed. The poster on the west wall is truly a terrible painting.

Apparently I am not allowed to see the beautiful boy.

But I'm glad you got to the doctor and got stuff seen to!

Oh...my, that is a pretty, pretty boy.

Anyway. Just out of curiosity, when you say you're aiming for your TSH to be very low, what range are you talking?

Below 2.0, I think. We'll have to see what's doable. He's been amenable to pushing lower before, so I don't think I'll have a problem.

Oh, okay, gotcha. I was just curious how low you were aiming for, as my endocrinologist keeps me between 1-2 (which is also where I feel the most functional/healthiest), & when I was overmedicating before I started seeing her (switched from Synthroid to Armour Thyroid without proper calculation of what I needed), mine was down to like 0.75 fasting and I was having all sorts of trouble (heart palpitations, constant hunger, swelling/numbness of feet, etc.). D: I was curious as to what other people's "norms" are in terms of how they feel & function, as the only other person with hypothyroidism I know is my mother, and hers is nothing like mine so I don't exactly have much data to extrapolate from XD

fwiw, I'm currently taking a dose of 100 mcg daily. The fertility clinic raised me from 88 to 100 in hopes of lowering my numbers to between 1 and 2, thinking that would help conception (that hasn't worked) but my functionality and energy level seems to have increased, and decreased brain fuzziness iirc my previous mental states... (but if I had brain fuzziness, I don't know that I would recall it correctly, lol...) I think I've been taking Levothroid for almost 15 years now.

Naamah, I hope you have good success juggling your chemistry for optimal happiness and productivity!

Weird I was forbidden to see the picture on Firefox but it worked fine on IE - I wonder what that was all about.

Glad you're feeling a bit better as the old ad was right "a summer cold is a vicious animal". Hopefully now that you're back with your nice doctor he will be able to figure out what's going on with you.
