Guys, robertsloan2 could use a signal boost.

From his post:

I'm moving to San Francisco on August 1st. I'd planned to save up @2,000 for the move but my savings only reached about $500 before I got the news that I'm losing my current housing. I am multiply disabled with skeletal problems, fibromyalgia, asthma, arthritis and scoliosis, living month to month on SSI.

My daughter Kitten, her husband Karl and my two grandkids are moving into their dream house with 20 acres on August 1st. I can't live on my own in Arkansas. The climate leaves me too sick to do anything ten or twelve months a year and my basic needs are not met. I don't have a power chair and can't even get all five prescriptions I need to function at my best.

I used to be a street artist when I lived in New Orleans, until I got too sick to do it. That was the best job I ever had - during the winter when I had five or six months I could function well and the tourists were flowing. MediCal will get me that power chair even if I can never be self supporting again. San Francisco Arts Commission licenses street artists with a better program than the New Orleans one. Tourism is year round there.

So is my health - the San Francisco micro climate is exactly like a Midwestern autumn. I walked farther, went out more, did more physical activity when I lived there than anywhere else I've ever lived. If I can ever become self employed again, it'll be in San Francisco. I need to give that a good honest try - then if I can't do it full time enough to live on, build other income streams till all of them let me become self supporting.

So please help, give me a hand up. I'll pay it forward. Once I'm settled in, I'll be a street artist again - and the first thing I'll do is go find some homeless or unemployed people who want to become street artists and teach them the trade. If I can't work enough days to support myself and it takes longer to become self employed again, I'll still do that. Those that can't do can teach.

If you live in San Francisco or the Bay Area and can help in other ways, please comment or send me a private message. I want to go home and I want to pay taxes again, that's my goal. Thank you!

Donations would be appreciated too, obviously, but this man also really needs to get the word out. He's willing to try, hard. He just needs help to get to a better place.
