What Comes Next?
Soooo. We are heading into the final portion of Pride and Prostitutes, and it has been a qualified success, enough so that we are going ahead with this. We will have a lot of changes in the future, but most of them will be behind the scenes.
The one you guys care about (we hope) is what story will be told next! What will we do once Dolly and Co. ride off into the sunset? Certainly we can return to the juicy town of Century, Kansas sometime in the future, but for now, we shall be turning to other times and places.
To wit: here's the the Hollywood-style pitches for the three stories we have on deck. So read them, judge them, and tell us what you think of them and which one you want next!
Shadow of the Crimson Claw
The year is 1897. After her ejection from the Wentworth Academy, Rachel Hastings returns to her Missouri home just in time for her father's backyard spaceship to launch her into an adventure beyond imagining. Among the pirate-haunted moons of Jupiter, Rachel finds herself thrust into the role of hero, leading the growing rebellion against the tyrant whose reach, if he is not stopped, will overshadow the entire solar system. She must face and defeat . . . The Crimson Claw!
Lady Silver
Inexperienced witch Stormy Willowsong inherits her grandmother's powerfully magical estate only to discover that her grandmother was murdered by the cult of the Wolf's Hook. Stormy pits herself against their charismatic leader in an attempt to prevent them from completing the ritual and raising a greater demon. Who will live, who will die, and who will be the final sacrifice?
Age of Winter
The death of the goddess Lammasthu plunged the land into an age of barbarism, an age of strife, an age of winter. Now reborn into a new body, she struggles to remember who she is and to regain her power in a world where everything has changed. Lovers will become mortal enemies, and immortal enemies will become lovers as the world shakes. The very gods make love even as they make war. Only Lammasthu can end the Age of Winter - but does she really want it to end?
