Kitties need help! Retweets and Facebookings Needed!

Oct 19, 2010 16:52

This just breaks my heart. Please, if you live in the Lake Charles, Louisiana area, please spread the word, or consider opening your home to one of these kitties. They are adult kitties, which makes them hard to adopt out, and shelters everywhere are already packed. I would hate for these animals to be abandoned to a system that can't help them. We know the outcome for adult animals put into the shelter system is crappy at best.

Being in poor health is shitty enough. Having to abandon your beloved pets is worse. Please spread the word. I'm not asking for money, just thirty seconds to post this to your Twitter or Facebook or LJ or DW account.

Hi Naamah,

I have Pulmonary Hypertension (diagnosed 4 years ago) and thought I was doing pretty good on the medications the doctors had me on, but I've had a major setback in the last 2 months. I have a history of nosebleeds which has now turned into a history of hemorrhages. At the moment the litany of doctors I have can't seem to find a way to put a stop to them. As a result, my health is failing much faster than I had hoped it would.

Here is my dilemma: I have 2 sweet and lovely babies, which I've mentioned in post replies to you, Cammie, and Clyde that have been with my forever, to me anyway. I am now faced with having to find homes for them. I refuse to letting them get killed, but no one seems to be able to find them homes! HELP!!!!

Clyde is a short haired grey 11 year old with they charming personality of a sweet baby. He doesn't talk much; if he wants something, he simply comes over to you and taps you on the arm, leg, whatever body part is most handy, doing this until you look down at him and say "what?" then he will give you a quizzical look like,
"well, it took you long enough....you must take my demands seriously, for I am after all, your King, Lord and Master!" He also is rather rotund, weighing in at 21 lbs., but after surviving Hurricane Rita, and me being gone for 8 weeks (my neighbor worked for the city, and took care of him while the city was evacuated) I have never had the heart to put him on a diet! He is sweet, cuddly, and so lovable that I can't bear to think of giving him away.

Cammie is my little insane black kitty! She's 5 years old and can be very fiesty. She was originally my daughter's cat, but when she moved back to Indiana, her dad said she couldn't bring her with her, so I
inherited her. Ashley's boyfriend didn't just beat up on her, he also delighted in abusing Cammie by kicking her, throwing her across the room, and slamming her into a wall. Needless to say, she isn't crazy about men. She is a sweet cat, but it took a long time to warm her up to people. Her favorite thing to do is climb into my lap, put her head in my hand, then just fall over in my lap dead, and wrap her paws around my other hand so I'll pet her belly while I rock her for about 20 minutes a night. I never believed black cats were insane till Cam, but she truly can be nuts, sitting still one second, then jumping 6 feet in the air, zigging 8 feet to her right and climbing up the woodwork of the door! My mom calls her "that little bitch!" She is a very sweet kitty and just needs extra patience and love. I don't think she should be around children, but she would flower as the only love of someone that could adore her as the Queen and Goddess of the World she is!

I don't want to do this and feel like a traitor and lowlife, but I also know that my doctors have been fussing at me for the last few years to get "rid of my cats". My lungs can't take the dander and all the other stuff they say kitties do with their fur. My vet can't take them or find them a home cause they are bursting at the seams with babies to be placed. I tried to contact Animal Angels, but no luck there either. So I am asking if you and the vast network of animal lovers you know might be able to help me. I live in Lake Charles, LA and my phone number is 337-564-0086. I don't know how long they are going to keep me at the hospital, but my lungs aren't doing well, and I'm now plagued with hemorrhaging nosebleeds that they can't figure out what to do about there and it's causeing me to be incredibly weak. I've had 2 transfusions, but they aren't enough to get my strength back. I will also have my mom's laptop, so should be able to get online to check my email and live journal. I would understand if you can't help me, and will be grateful if you can.

Thank you so much for your time.

Carla Roy-Dace

See what I mean? These cats have been through a lot, they are survivors, and they deserve a chance. Please help spread the word.
