Pirate porn is a go!

May 16, 2010 05:23

Poll results are in, and are conclusively in favor of pirates. So, on June 21, I will post pirate smut for you all to enjoy! I have a pretty good idea or two kicking around. This will probably be airship pirates, and not classical pirates, just because I am in that kind of mood.

This does not mean that I won't at some point write werewolf smut ( Read more... )

I would have told her. You never know when you'll forever lose the chance to tell her "Hey, you made a positive influence in my life." Simply explain you like to write in your spare time nd that you inspired her. Sounds like it'd probably do her some good to have someone give her a compliment.

I frankly don't know if I will be able to resist if I see her again.

If there is at all romance planned in your fantasy erotica, poke me, I know e-publishing resources. If not... I think I might actually know of a few publishers, but erotica with romance has a lot more options. You have my email. ;)

It does, to ME it does, but I have never really understood what qualifies as "romance" versus just . . . writing a story where people, yeah, fall in love and pair off at some point. I'm not sure what puts it in the genre, if you see what I mean.

Well, e-publishing romance definitions are a lot more fluid than print publishing. Print is loosening up, but is still pretty strict in some areas (like you don't really find gay or actual poly romance, and you can in e-publishing).

For e-pub, I'd say, is there a romantic HEA (happily ever after), or happily-for-now, for the primary characters? If so, that generally qualifies it. :)

I may ask you more about this sometime in the near future, because I do have questions about it. If I were to go for anything, it would likely be e-pub, preferably with a POD option.

I agree with the hyena. If you see the captain again and it's possible to say, catch up with her just outside the door of the therapy place, just tap her on the shoulder and say something generally nice and brief. I suck at saying anything beyond "I like your shoes" but you're good with words.

Speaking of being good with words, I read this bizarre article on a science blog yesterday, and after the "Ew! Ew!" hand-flapping impulse wore off, I started marveling at the insults one could compose based on it. ;)

"Turd-molesting toilet sloth."

*dies laughing*

I'm coming out into a reception area while she is still sitting and waiting for her therapist, so she's reading or doing something, and I would be interrupting. It's awkward. I would have to time it right, or just bite the bullet and say something anyway.

I wish I could loan you my social abilities for just one day so you could tell her something she's probably been waiting her whole life to have someone say.

Hell, I wish I could just come along and be your ice breaker.

If it were me, I'd just walk up to her and say, "May I borrow just one moment of your time? I normally don't approach people out of the blue with something like this, especially here, but I also know life is so incredibly brief that some risks are worth taking. I'm a writer, and I just have to tell you that your amazing appearance inspired me to write a story the other day, so I wanted to come thank you for being my unknowing muse. I think you look phenomenal, and I hoped you'd be pleased to know that there is a heroine out there inspired by you."

My bet is that she'd be incredibly flattered. I know I would be.

I am really tempted, since you put it so well! Especially since the story now has a home and will be printed in a readable-by-other-folks format. That makes it feel NOT pathetic.
