Umm, Holy Crap.

Thank you all immensely for the good juju. You are my miracle workers.

Our third offer was approved, and we close on October 3rd.

I'm scared. Of course I am scared. I am so scared.

There's a lot of work to do, the transition is going to be so hard because this place is so different from the house we have now, from anyplace I have ever lived, ( Read more... )

happy, squee, omg

Yay for you, Naamah. You deserve this so much. I can't wait to see what you can do with those empty walls; white may fit anything, but murals can give a room a life of its own. But, good god, two weeks? I recommend luring friends over with the promise of food for packing hands. It may not be much, but we're pulling for you from Virginia, George the Betta and me.

The bwahahahaha joke's on someone else part is that we don't HAVE to move out of this house in a hurry, so I'm relatively not-stressed about the time frame.

Not after moving HERE in one weekend in the middle of summer. I'm STILL mad at my mom about that. That fucking sucked, oh my god.

I may not be able to swing murals; the walls are textured. But I can do COLOR, DAMMIT. COLOR.

You know, if you want to do murals, I bet you could fill in the textured part with spackle or something. It would be a hell of a lot of work, but probably easier than trying to remove the texture.

I've thought about it, I have. I don't much like that kind of wall, and it's tempting to have someone come in and just smooth them over in a room or two. Skim-coating is not that hard to do if you, you know, pay someone else to do it.

The things I know I really want to do will actually still work on the textured walls, I think. And if they don't, there are other ways to get the same effect. Or I can have just one wall or area skim-coated so I can do it.

Well, just from my experience, moving always sucks bum. But, then again, I doubt you have Colonel Crab-Ass cracking the whip on you like me (my dad sucks at positive reinforcement). As long as you're not a pack-rat like me (I save useless stuff because it's SHYNEE!), you should be fine ( ... )

Something that was big and not meant to be finely detailed would still work. So at least one project may still work.

Since you're planning to do one wall green anyway, you could go with the forest seen through mist or fog thing. That certainly wouldn't need to be detailed. :)

Two words: PIRATE MAP.

Well, I'll add a third word.

PIRATE MAP, MOTHERFUCKERS!

Probably in the studio, wherever I wind up putting that.

Now, the question is, do I make it a cooler, fantastical version of the "real world," or a totally imaginary place with goofball names out the wazoo?

There has to be a group of islands called the "Islets of Langerhans".
