Three nifty things.
First off,
Tor is offering free digital books and wallpapers if you sign up for their mailing list. I mention this not only because it is just plain cool, but because Cherie Priest, aka
cmpriest, has a novel available: Four and Twenty Blackbirds is her first book, and you can get it, totally free. It is a really great read, and a free introduction to her work is not to be sneezed at.* There is a lot of other really cool stuff available, too, so I suggest you check it out.
Second,
lost Vivaldi opera found, performed. This is not huge news or anything, but it is just so cool. I love the idea that there are still artistic treasures out there, waiting to be discovered. I love the idea of something that is old and new at once.
Third, the most awesome tee shirts ever** at
The Retropolis Transit Authority. Shirts for the world of tomorrow. These are most excellent. Death ray shirts, space pirate shirts, all you could ever want, in fine pulp science-fiction style. Better living through merciless experimentation!
* Unless you are allergic to awesome.
** With the possible exception of BPAL shirts, which are usually pretty girly.
