Lady Peril Returns!
Avast, ye scurvy sea-dogs! It be Talk Like A Pirate Day!
And in honor of this holiday I give to you more of Lady Peril, this time with a friend!
Lady Valkyrie is a Harris hawk maintained by Bob Aanonsen of the Royal Gauntlet Birds of Prey. These guys come to Conestoga, our local sci-fi convention, every year. You might know them from the Muskogee Renfaire, too. Great folks, great birds. I had the honor of meeting Val at the faire several years ago -- four, I think -- and through a series of adventures and misadventures she's with Bob still. I say hello every chance I get.
I'd take her for my ship's parrot any day! What a beauty she is! But don't let her fool you -- she looks dangerous, and she is, but she's also a cuddle-slut. I say that, you know, with R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
See, here's why you shouldn't just grab random birds of prey for snuggles:

That said, haven't you always wanted to kiss a dangerously beautiful girl?
I told you. Val loves the attention. She really does. Best bird ever. I'm so in love with her it's not even funny.
