BPAL Scent Reviews V

Jan 15, 2006 19:47

Round five of the Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab reviews. I'm not even close to working through my backlog of already-written reviews, let alone the box of imps I'm hoarding.

First, a word about the allure of perfume, and the peculiar problems posed by scent.

Philosophical ramblings on language, senses, and gratification. )

I am a guy, and your BPAL reviews make me wish the woman in my life lived closer to me, such that we could explore these scents together as you have done.

Well written as usual, and I agree wholeheartedly with your apprasial of scent related language.

Thanks! I wish I had a man who had a sense of smell keen enough to really appreciate all of it. :P Sadly, he's not gifted in that way.

Like I said somewhere below, O is one of those that everyone should try. I LOVE amber, and I have a LOT of amber scents waiting for me to test them.

So I've been intruiged by BPAL since you first mentioned it and my interest has grown with each review. And if I ever get my hands on any, I will become another addict.

Hell, I'm addicted to reading your reviews and descriptions. I haven't even sniffed these scents and through your stunning words I can smell them. Not all of them mind you, but the ones whose components I'm familiar with. Combine that with your thorough reviews, and it's almost a good as opening the bottles and trying them on myself.

I don't comment often, but I had to inform you that if I become an addict, it's all your fault. ;) OH! And I picked up a copy of the book last week. I was much a fangirl, pointing out you to several of my friends. *blush*

I'm due to get three sets of imp's ears soon. I want to write reviews like these but I wouldn't know where to start. But if I do, I'll send you a link so we can compare how different smells read differently on different people. And stuff.

And oh dear god, O and the University sound nice.

O is one of the classics I think everyone should try. It's very popular for a very good reason.

Sadly, Misk. U. was a limited edition, so I'm left with just the little bit I have. :(

I hope you like what you ordered. Their stuff is really, really different from what I had expected, and I like it a lot!
