Quite Enough of That.

I've been extraordinarily broodsome today, and very weepy over trapped people and abandoned, tail-wagging pets. I'm all depressed and ornery. Sargon worked late, which does nothing for my morale. I was so pathetically lonely and sad that when he came home I actually baked something, in some sort of misplaced and abortive feminine urge to make it all right.

So I sat and ate my stupid shortbread and drank some chamomile tea, and discussed the whole thing with the most callous and unfeeling fend-for-yourself bastard that I know (I married him), and even he agreed that this is pretty much a complete disaster. A total Mongolian clusterfuck.

I am probably just going to skim my f-list for the next couple of days because if I see even one more of those "those STUPID people should have LEFT" posts, I am going to turn someone's head into a canoe. I don't want to hear it. I'm too appalled and disgusted even to rant.

People who are pissed at the stupidity of those who stayed or could not leave, would do well to take another look at the reality of the situation. It's fine to be angry, but I wish people would hold their tongues until they decide what they're really mad about.

A lot of people are linking to wickedwish's thoughts on the matter, which are essentially my own. If you think "they" are at fault, you might want to read it.

And I don't know this guy, but his clue-by-four has a definite point. Worth reading.

You know, they closed the Greyhound offices on Saturday. These people were supposed to leave HOW, exactly? Or is it that the poor and carless deserve what they get? How very little like the cheerful, takes-all-comers backseat slut America should be, and how very like the snotty, upper-class, gold-digging cunt she has apparently become. I'm disappointed.

The ounce of folly that leads a poor southerner to stay in the only home he knows does not mean he deserves the hammer of God when it gets shoved up his ass. And it absofuckinglutely does not absolve anyone else of having to care about their fellow human beings.

Who chooses who does not "deserve" sympathy? It's not my place to decide. I'll tell you that for nothing.
