I'm so glad to be back with you. And I come bearing stories.

To clarify for those who aren't aware of exactly what I was having done this morning, the procedure, Essure, involves placing implants in each fallopian tube, which cause the formation of scar tissue to block the egg's pathway into the uterus, thus preventing pregnancy. (a) I read the whole thing, fyi.

(b) I haven't the foggiest idea what to say.  If I were in person, it'd be a "Let's go have pints!" time.  In lieu, userpic.

(c) And in closing, I'll tell you that this line seriously, and with not a bit of the exaggerative humour one expects on the net nowadays, made me snorf a bit of tea into my sinuses:

I've always liked the idea of the old woman who can get away with anything. I'm going to enjoy the role. You're definitely welcome to help me trip toddlers and beat them with sticks. You'll be an awesome nasty old woman, too.

That's a hell of a lot more intense than my getting diagnosed with PCOS around the same time as my then-husband's vasectomy.

I'm glad the universe, even if only by random chance, gave you a solid pat on the back for once. That said, I'm so sorry this didn't go smoothly, and I hope the subsequent surgery does.
