Wow - Spring is here big time and it's gardening time again! I've been busy planting, weeding, mulching, digging, triming and having *rolls eyes* other similar "fun" in the yard. *grin* In between that, I've tried to catch some of the H/D World Cup and have chosen and started my Big Bang III pieces. ^.^
The hummingbirds are back - one was hovering right outside our living room window looking in at me looking out at her. lol Once of these days I'm determined I'll get a photo of one. They are quite brazen little creatures - having full confidence in their ability to zip away in any direction in a split second. I've even had one come and sit on my watering wand just inches from my hand because she was interested in the water spray. :D
What's Blooming in My Garden This Week - #2. (What's blooming #1 can be seen
here.)
Some blue flowers I don't know the name of...
Clematis...
Hibiscus...
Lilac blossoms...
Lilac buds...
Lilac bushes - ooh, look how long our grass is... (We've gotten it cut since. ;-))
Lilac and swallowtail butterfly...
Lilac with swallowtail 2...
Lilac and inchworm... This made me laugh because I didn't see the inchworm until after I uploaded the pics.
Lilac against the sky...
Lily-of-the-Valley...
Japanese Maple...
Columbine...
Columbine...
Wild daisies... These were coming up all over in the tall grass. I love waiting late to start mowing - you never know what pretty wild flowers will show up unexpectedly. :D
Wild trumpet vine... Another volunteer - I didn't plant this, it's just appeared growing at the top of the wall.
The Climbing Rose on the front porch... And yes, I was standing out in the rain to take this picture. *grin*
Most of the vegetable garden is planted, or seeds started - we have green beans, broccoli, lettuce, tomatoes, cantelope, peppers, zucchini and yellow squash, cucumbers, eggplant, okra, and swiss chard - and a little herb bed with parsley, oregano, basil, peppermint and sage. I only have a few more annual flower purchases I want to make - then lots of planting to be done. ^.^
