I am a huge fan of Alphonse Mucha and
this wonderfully lovely work was the September image in my 2006 calendar. As soon as I saw it, I knew I just had to do an H/D version. :D So . . .

I'm stunned. The details! God! The patterns, the poinsettia, the mistletoe, all wonderfully arranged and perfectly balanced. Not to mention the little mistletoe on Draco's hair. It is LOVE.
Yeah the composition is very Mucha, but the coloring is so very you ♥. Thank you so much for such a fantastic holiday treat to all of us H/D shippers.

I am so delighted to find this here when I woke up. I expected you to post it this evening. I feel like I've just received the most beautiful Christmas card. The colouring and design of this is just so special. Christmas and house colours all in one. The detail in the background is incredible and I love the choice of plants and how the Slytherin white berries are in Harry's picture and the red Gryffindor ones in Draco's half.
The robes are divine (I wich I'd thought of something like this way back when I needed dress robes for a certain ball scene). The edging around the sleeves and collars and the buttons on the sleeves really finish them off.
And the boys *sigh* they are just perfect. The little smirk on Draco's face and the way he is looking at the viewer out of the corner of his eye as if to say "See, I told you I could get him", while Harry is focused on Draco. Their hands ... I love their hands!
You are such a talented person.

And haha! I think Harry has every intention of using that mistletoe he's holding. I love their hands too, but I can't take credit for them, since that was one of the things I kept exactly like the original art. :)
Thank you so much, Fran dear! I really loved making this piece. ^.^

The Christmas plants, and their colouring is perfect, Draco has green and a teeny tiny bit of red to make the connection to Harry, and Harry has mostly red, and a bit of green for Draco's sake :D What a beautiful shade of red you've found, too!
LOL! Draco DOES look smug there :D Harry looks a bit shy making him even more adorable :D
(I must get you here one day! We have such lovely Art Nouveau places you wouldn't believe!!! See! I'm ready for extortion, too :D)

Those are my favorite shades of red and green - tending toward blue. ;-) And Harry might be a bit shy, but I do think he has definite plans on using that mistletoe. lol
Heee - I would LOVE to come there and see all the things you've taken such gorgeous pictures of. I've been amazed at how beautiful the architecture designs are. ^.^
