(no subject)
I know it's been forever since I posted. I do lurk and even comment from time to time on my friends' journal enteries.
I have been trying to be "happily" busy this summer. After the last two with so many deaths I thought it was time to feel joy. Must admit for the most part am being successful although this week am in a bit of a funk. Hard to believe on the 23rd it will be one year since Mom died. I miss my parents more than I would have expected.
On the upside, my sister and older brother and I have kept in close touch. The estate is settled so that's a plus. My younger brother announced last year that we were all morons and he wants nothing to do with any of us. So now that he has his money, I don't expect he will be in touch with any of us. Actually a relief because he is like a loose cannon most of the time, you never know when he will go off and who needs to live with that stress.
The Big Guy and I haven't done much together it seems. Sure, we entertain but no trips this summer. I suppose if you count when he works in Ottawa and I go along with the hopes of spending a bit of time with the girls, what I say is untrue, but I don't think that should count as "vacation time" I can't seem to convince him that it would be nice to do something.
I did get away for a weekend with my sister, her three and my youngest daughter. We went to Medieval Times and the Toronto Zoo. Had a blast!
My inlaws are here for the third round of visits this summer. Yikes! I must admit I find it all a bit too much. They are only here for 4 days this time as opposed to the previous 7 days. I also read the riot act to The Big Guy.. they are his parents, he should do more than sit and watch TV for an hour each night and have meals with them. I don't feel it's solely my job to amuse them! He has gotten the message.
It's been a wonderful summer weather wise. Lots of rain at night, warm weather during the day. I have sat on my glider and read many many books this year.
So over all I am doing okay. Just a bit down in the dumbs this week. bah to that!
