April Showers
Seems March came in like a lion but went out like a lamb leading right into April showers. One good thing is the snow is pretty much all gone. We have crocus and iris up along with snowdrops and the greens of tulips and daffodils. Despite the weatherman calling for white stuff this weekend, I do believe Spring is here.
On the home front, I have been doctoring a beastly cold which has kept me homebound for a week. Thursday my voice went. I don't have a sore throat, just this croaking squeaky voice and a cough still. Have been sleeping and drinking fluids and sleeping some more. Here's hoping I am over the worst of it.
So the cold means I have not seen my Mom for a week. I talk to her on the phone every day but it's hard to tell how she really is. She did sound more optimistic about things today although voiced a concern about her kidney function. Will have to get talking to a sibling to see if that's real or imagined. To think that we have almost a month behind us since Dad died and Mom was hospitalized with no end in sight .. no wonder I have a cold.
We have no plans for Easter. Sad in some ways but I am sure something fun will come up. The Big Guy leaves on Easter Monday for a three day business trip. I wish I could go but the timing is not right at all.
So life goes on here by the lake.. ... one day at a time....
