Hello kids, System 86 here, its 5:30am and I just realized I have not givin an update on the may 9th show yet to you all. so here it goes.
show was really good. as some of you know NAR is doing a DVD to come out this winter, so we had 4 cameras set up for the show.
The small club was packed with over 250 kids. I'd say NAR brought about 200+ of all those people. So NAR gets on stage around 8:45pm, we were suppose to have a 25 min set... which isnt bad cuz we had all these people pay about $15 to see us.
We came out with "ONE NIGHT OF TRAGEDY" and right after into "MY BLEEDING EYES", the crowd was really pumped, mosh pits were rockin. We took a little break, Luca talked to the crowd, then we came back with "11 CENT SOLUTION" a NAR classic... been playing that tune for 5 years now. and right after that into "905 MUDAKS" the chicken song. The place went nuts when they heard us playing that. We took another break and Luca talked more plugging out new CD. Then came "DYING BREED" and "SUCKER PUNCH"... now... at this time we were suppose to play "COLD" but the sound guys after only 15 min started telling us to get off stage... so we cut cold and went into "MALFUNCTION/ITCHES" we only played the last 30 sec of itches as an outro to malfunction.
Now here is where it goes nuts, we are suppose to end with "SHOVE" our new song we are trying to push, our new song getting video rotation, and I hear music playing over the PA, they cut our sound AND lights. So I was pissed cuz we wanted this song for our DVD, and we had a big speech planned right before shove, so as most of you know, shove starts off with guitars playing... thats me, and I was like fuck this shit, so I started to play "SHOVE". The band joined me, but we had no vocals, and we were not coming threw the PA, only as loud as our amps were on stage. But what happened next blew my mind, with no vocals going along to the song, and I am focused on rocking out on stage, I hear the whole room start singing along to shove for us. It felt good to know so many people were so supportive. I've never seen anything like that before. everyone knew the words and it rocked. Even tho I was pissed about the sound being cut, what happened turned out really good on video and will be awesome for the DVD. I just feel bad a lot of fans didnt get to hear their fav NAR song.
We also sold and signed a lot of copies of our cd, a lot of people I hear love the new album so I am pleased. The show was good, the club pretty much went empty after we played, so that made me happy; especially when I heard it was Unloco's record label's idea to cut our sound so Unloco wouldn't play late. I hear Unloco had no more then 20 people for them. Too bad cuz Unloco, Factory 81, and Memento are all cool guys and good bands. We planned to tell everyone to stay for the show, and we were gonna stay so no one would take off, but after what happened I just wanted to leave, and they cut Luca's mic so he couldn't really tell people to stay.
Big thank you to all who came out, and Inertia for putting on the great show. It was a success. Look out for more NAR shows soon!
