I think you did a great job of showing this from Sam's side of the tank, interesting choice. You definitely got it right - depicting the glass there, and I have no idea how you did that. Dean is absolutely perfect too, and Sam's gills! It's very realistic *nods*

i liked the idea of the visual from sam's side (more empathy for his point of view ) ,but in this way it proved that it have been more problematic to show the glass barrier (all the colors even outside the tank had to be filtered through water's blu shade ).
...so nice idea but bad choise for the poor realization ghghghghgh

Ah - I must admit, I hadn't realised until I read the first two comments that Dean was NOT supposed to be in the water with MerSam - I wonder if you could have created that feeling of separation better just by having Dean mirror the hand placement with Sam but leaving a slight gap between them to indicate the glass? (Palm to palm)
I love the colouring and Dean's face is wonderfully done.

yep i know ... in the fic the scene was written as palm to palm ,but in this way it would have been even more difficult to show-prove the glass barrier (at least now sam's palm is stopped in middle air against something)

it have been a poor choise from the start to paint everything from sam's part because in this way even the outside of the tank colors , had to be filtered through the water's blu shade

i tried to put dean under a little green-yellow light as behind a different surface but without result

I did notice the lighting on Dean was warmer - though that was hard as well given our view point is in the water with Sam - Don't get me wrong, I love it and think it works really well and I actually really really like Dean's hand as you have done it!
