From the Ashes
Today is the feast day of Saint Joan of Arc, the day she was burned at the stake under the following charge:
"Joan, who calls herself the Maid, liar, evil-doer, seducer of the people, sorceress, witch, blasphemer of God, denier of the faith of Jesus Christ, idolater, fallen, evoker of evil spirits, apostate, schismatic, heretic."
