Well, I don't know what to do; I sit and cry and sing the blues.

So I figured out my schedule for next semester I think. It's looking pretty good. A full load, but all T/R except one M/W, which is REALLY nice. I'll be taking arguably the hardest class of my career here (for me, that is), so I'll need lots of solid days open for the projects. So far, I'm thinking Digital Design, Data Structures, Intro to Power (and lab), Numerical Analysis and MIDI Applications (yay!! finally, a music tech class!). After that, I'll only have Digital Design II, a 1000 level Bio class that I'll probably take at FCCJ for free this summer, a random tech elective (you'd better believe I'll be taking the easiest thing I can get away with), and Audio Tech for Music. I'm hoping to beg the music department to at least let me just sit in on the next level of audio tech stuff, since I won't have time to take it after I finish the prereq. Things are wrapping up, and I think I like that.

I went for a drive around Christiansburg today. There's a lot more to that side than I thought. I took a tiny backroad that sort of followed the New River, which wrapped me around a mountain or two, and it was gorgeous back there. Huge green fields with cows, and brightly coloured trees bending over my path. It was nice.

Unfortunately I have a weird ladybug infestation. It's ridiculous. I find more of those things lying around on their backs everyday. Plus there's the one that likes to bang against the globe on the ceiling fan in my room. Unbelievably annoying. Plus, since it's over my bed, I'm always worried that he's going to die like the rest, and just fall down on my bed. So every night, I tear it apart to make sure the guy isn't there, then lay down, only to hear his familiar TINKTINKTINKTINK. The light's not even on, you jackass!! So far, I think I've thrown about 10-12 away. Then there's the one that annoys me, and one that's chilling just out of reach on a section of crown molding. Oh, and the 30 or so along my mat and the stairs outside my front door. I exaggerate, but still...why are there so many ladybugs?

Joe's doing really well. That's my older brother, for those who don't know. He's finally doing stuff that he enjoys, or at least the slight crap he has to put up with before he can do what he really enjoys. I'm so proud; he's on jacksonville.com a bunch now! If you go to the main page, and look under "local videos", he shot and edited the "Jaguars players talk about their pre-game rituals" one. It's cool, because his name appears at the end of the segment. Haha, I know, it's lame, but it's exciting to us! His name's also listed here, since he took those pictures. That's not his normal job, and he's admitted that he's not that great at it, but he always jumps at whatever assignment they throw at him. I'm just waiting for the day that he's the stat kid at ESPN.

I'm thinking of going to a music store and having a salesperson listen to Muddy Waters' Louisiana Blues, then asking which harmonica would allow me to play that. I'm alright with recognizing when stuff sounds wrong, but I'm still working on being able to definitively identify actual keys of pieces. Anyways, I figure, if I want to record the blues, I might as well be able to play them. I should have the basics down by the time I'm finished with my undergrad. I tried picking my guitar back up, and was able to play the stuff from way back when fairly well, but I was slightly discouraged at how long it took to get back to where I was when I was freaking 5 years old. Also made me wonder if I would be any good had I continued throughout my teen years. Still, it felt really good to have that guy back in my hands. I'm not too familiar with guitar makers and all, but that one might as well be priceless.
