Feb 04, 2010 10:58

I woke up around 4 AM this morning and I immediately felt like I had been run over by a herd of hippogryffs. After drifting through painful dozing for about two hours, I was fully awake by 6. Looking down at my hands, I realized that I was back to my old body. I must have overexerted myself doing quidditch and running and being a 25-year-old ( Read more... )

Oh, I see...

*He writes a bit in silence*

I don't know how helpful I will be.. if it was my cousin Franklin writing this I know it wouldn't be a problem at all. A pureblood Norrington has a bit more clout than a halfblood one, no matter how hard he tries to combat it.

They won't unless they're familiar with muggle advocacy... then again you said your mum works for the ministry.. what department?

Mum works underneath the minister. She's his assistant.

*He drops his quill*

DG.. if your mum, who has the ear of the minister, cannot get answers on your sister's case, do you think I can?

*...her smile just slides off her face, feeling horrible again, all that hope is gone*

Oh... yeah.

Oh my God, your mum is Lavender Gale, isn't she? I met with her when I met with the minister to discuss muggle advocacy law...

*He sees her face*

I've started the letter.. I'll finish it and send it. It can't hurt any.

Yeah... that's Mum. You've met her? Was she nice to you?

You really don't need to, James... It means so much to me though.

Well we were in an entirely professional setting, but your mum seemed kind.. she seemed interested in muggle advocacy. More interested than the minister.

Nonsense, I've started it.. I'll finish it and send it.

*He goes back to writing*

She's pretty interested in that stuff... Mum likes muggles, though she doesn't really know very much about them.

Thank you, James.. *smiles at last, though its still kind of sad*

Most wizards don't know a lot about muggles, which is usually the problem. They prefer to think of them as "others", as people who aren't as important as they are, so they'd rather just turn their heads and pretend that they don't exist.

It's my pleasure, DG.. as always..

*He squeezes her hand*

Well, Mum does think they're important... she's just never really been in contact with them though. We're kind of isolated at home.

*threads their fingers together, smiling over at him*

Yes I didn't mean to suggest that your mum necessarily felt that way, just that there are many wizards who do.

*He squeezed her hand for a moment, then untangled their fingers. It was still hard for him. Even though he felt the way he did about her, it was hard to show affection.*

*He went back to his letter*

I'm almost done.

I know... I just... you know, wanted to say.
