That was the best fucking trip of my fucking life. The moment we started to descend to JFK, I was happier than I have ever been in years.
Wednesday Night/Thursday
Went to pick up my dad with my cousin and met up with Aunt Lien, Huong, & Thi. Got on the flight and barely slept, was hella tired, but like I said, as we started to descend, I couldn't have been more awake. Got our baggage, took awhile to get the rental car cuz the airtran broke down. When we got it, we headed towards the city. <3 simple as that. Saw a naked cowboy x) Only in New York haha. Headed towards the Lincoln Tunnel to go to Philadelphia. Took a pit stop and got a postcard for Sam (which I never sent btw -_-') and headed towards my Aunt Tiem's hair salon (in philly). Fell asleep on the way and when we got there met up with my Uncle Tony, Uncle Hai, & Cousin Thanh. They took us out to eat @ a Pho place and got some stuff for my grandma's praying things. We got to the funeral home and Thursday was the viewing.. =/ She looked like she was sleeping. It scared me. Cousin Anh, Huong, Tai, and Jessie, Lizzie, BELLA, Stephen, and Peter came. Afterwards the monk came and we did the praying and the blessing of the things to give to my grandma. it took a long time, then we burnt stuff to send to her. When we finally finished we all went to eat at Sang Kee. It had aiite food. I ate Wonton Noodle Soup. So-so. Got our sleeping arrangements and I got to kick it with Cousin Anh, Huong, Tai, Jessie, Lizzie, Bella, Stephen, and Peter at the Courtyard Hotel. Took a shower and slept over with them.
Friday
was the day of the funeral. Finished blessing the rest of the things and burning all the other stuff. Then we started to head towards the graveyard (where my grandpa is too) and finished doing the rest of the stuff. Buried grandma =/, but you know what, it was kinda freaky cuz my cousin said that he swore when he visited grandpa before both sides were taken up, and as we were walking around the site, I noticed that the grave next to grandma's had another gravestone RIGHT behind it. It wasn't too deep either (the hole where they put the coffin =x) so like, it seems like grandma is buried on top of someone else! xO we were talking about it in the car, and everyone is all saying at least she's buried on top and its not like the person below her can do anything cuz they're dead =x but yea.. Oh yea, turns out that I lost my cellphone and they called my dad. *whew* thank god. -_-' called them and said we'd come bak later to retrieve it. Thank god no black person picked it up. =x Oh yea, Philly is like ghetto town. -_-' All black people, for a minute I thot i found amy's hidden family =p haha. j/m. but yea, after the funeral we all went out to eat at a restaurant. met my cousin lisa from maryland and uncle hang from texas and other relatives that I didnt get names. ate and watched lil bella. <3 such a cutie that lil girl is. x) talked to my cousin and they said they'd ask my dad if I could come to Florida with them in August They're so awesome. haha. My family does care a lot about me =/, i should try to do something in return and I will haha. After we ate, relatives left, and the rest of us headed towards Chu Trung (uncle tony's) house and we all chilled there. Us kids watched Shark Tale which was pretty funny x) and after it finished the kids left. I was the only person there under 18 after they left. :'( with adults and watched Kung Fu Hustle which kicked ass. x) haha. after that, cousin tony took me to go get my cell phone from the guy who found it. Dude was hella nice too. x) haha, saved right there. and cousin promised me he'd take me to the place that makes the best philly cheesesteak. Pat's King of Steaks. FUK dude.. that shit was delicious. damn.. now that i'm writing about it, i'm craving for it. -_-' *sniffs* met my cousin's ex, who was nice x) and drove bak to uncle tony's house. heard stories of philly and how it was "back in the day" from my cousin. =x it got me scared haha. got home..and slept immediately.
Saturday
woke up and took a shower. headed to Pho Hoa and ate. After we ate we immediately headed towards Atlantic City. called jen up and she told me if I saw Usher, say hi to him for her. I was confused and thot Usher was performing there or something and she said isn't he from there. -_-' dumbutt didnt kno the difference between Atlanta and Atlantic City. loser haha. went to the Taj Mahal cuz the beach was next to it. walked on the boardwalk cuz I wasn't allowed in teh casino =( and chilled there with family. played games at the carinval and the arcade. bought some stuff... then the adults went to gamble and i just wandered around. After they finished we headed bak to Philly and went to Sang Kee again to eat for dinner. After Sang Kee we went to go visit Bac Hai (cousin tonys mom). then headed bak towards uncle's house.. and packed up cuz we were gonna go back to New York. (Me, my cousin and my dad had a flight on sunday)
Sunday
Drove all the wya to New York and got some kickbutt pics of the city at night. I would've gotten better ones on the Bridge, but there wasnt a place to pull over so I couldn't do it. =( But I saw Chinatown and people vomiting -_-' and went to Jackson Heights! Was gonna call up Ellen, haha, but I didnt have your number, and I also didn't want to bother you at 3:30 a.m. in the morning. Went to relatives house and dropped off the aunts there. stayed there till 4:30 and left. got a lil lost to the airport (i wanted to visit Astoria, where i was from, but had no time ) oh wells. got to the airport early, and was planning to get some souvenirs there if possible, but like, the airtran track was messed up or something, so we didnt leave till like 30 minutes after we got there, which made us have to rush and almost late too. Sat down, and I knocked out haha. now i'm back in crappy butt california. *sighs*
I hope I get to visit again soon. I'm so depressed I'm back here -_-'. At least I missed the earthquake. hah. I'm glad I got to go back though, I haven't seen things in ages, it's nice to see it again. I just wished we stopped by in Astoria. =/
