Day 5
Well, I'm still here in the hospital and they have not mentioned anything about letting me go. They have been checking blood cultures on top of blood cultures to see if the bug is dead, but it's not yet. Fortunately, they have not seen anything else growing. So, my port is out, my PICC is out and antibiotics are flowing. It hasn't been a bad stay. I'm getting lots of rest and attention and everyone loves and treats me like a queen. I've gained weight from the fluids, but my appetite is still bad. As soon as I get home and release all of this fluid, I'll probably get back down to where I was.
My mom and Dwayne have been here by my side everyday. I actually didn't expect to see D last night because he had class, but he showed up and I was so happy to see him. My friend Val was my nurse last night. She and I worked together for 2.5 years when I first started here. It was such a good night. She didn't think she would be able to meet him, but lo and behold, my knight walked through the door. She gave him a hug and told him that she has heard so much about him. I know is was probably not the coolest thing to do, but I had her show him her engagement ring. It is the most beautiful ring I've ever seen. It's unique and I love it!!! He agreed that it was beautiful. I tried to stay woke the whole time he was here, but I had a lot of medicine in my system and it made me drowsy. He just sat there and watched me sleep. He's such a sweet man.
Ouch!!!! I just got stuck in my belly. They're giving me Lovenox while I'm here to make sure that don't get a blood clot.
Anyway, I need to get washed up and take a walk around the floor to get some exercise.
