I have, in the wonderful way that I do, been playing my game to the complete neglect of my work because I'm a terrible, terrible student. More specifically, I was playing my OWBC due to broodiness, and have now gotten to the point where I've met babies L and P of the naming scheme, despite the fact that uploaded chapter-wise, the second Os have only just become kids.
Anyway, while I was playing Tim, Order and Billy through university, Billy developed a rather intense interest in a simself I already had in my neighbourhood, fairly well throwing out of the window my plans to hook him up with an import since I now have more potential EPIC PLOT PLANS. Not that they would play out in the OWBC, it'll go back into the legacy before that happens.
But thinking this through has led me to reform one of my rules about simselves. Previously I'd been thinking that simselves - or my simself at the very least - would have the ability to come back to life whensoever they felt like it, and the only reason they didn't was because it would cause havoc for the ordinary sims re: Seth's subsequent realisation that the legacy's still going on and he's still not the heir (and, you know, ignoring the capability that we could come back and tell him he's a main character anyway, which would probably do. And make him insufferable). But I'm rethinking that. I don't know whether I'll have everyone rezzed at the end of the legacy, but - at least before then - the dead simselves won't be able to come back, or not without a descendant of the reaper who is alive, knows about their powers, knows the simself in question, and has cause to resurrect them, ie probably never going to happen. There might be a clause whereby my simself could bring herself back, but it would use up all her powers and render her mortal and no more powerful than any other sim, and I have no plans involving that.
What this means is that any of the simselves already dead won't be coming back to Simfield under any circumstances (before the end of the legacy, if then). Which brings us to the OWBC (and the apocalypse, but who wants to marry one of Kimmy's descendants and live there instead?) - Heaven is kind of a halfway place, accessible by both the alive and the dead, but the alive cannot cross into the Afterlife, and the dead cannot cross into Simfield, but under current plans Heaven is going to more-or-less cease to exist at the end of the OWBC. So basically, if your simself is dead in my game and you want them to have a family, pick someone from the OWBC (or I can show you Apocalypse offspring, but...) before it ends. Not that that applies to many people, since there were about 6 of those, and most of them have disappeared from the community. If you were in that group and are still reading: Hi! I LOVE YOU <3
If you weren't in that group, you'll probably only die of old age after settling down to start a family anyway, so that shouldn't be so much of a problem unless my storyline calls for simself genocide again <.< >.>
Oh, and if I don't have your simself: *grabbyhands*
Er, anyway, I feel a bit bad about Billy because I was making plans with somebody for him (and I will totally sort something out with them another time), but he was all over this simself since he went to college and... well...
Look how pretty my daughter turns out! *.* Definitely outdoes me.
Also, I changed my Hufflepuff userpic, since this one covers HP, fandom, and my frequent attitude with plotting. Especially with regards to certain villains X)
