Yes, I have an exam tomorrow and an unfinished essay for the day after, but I have more important problems, dammit!
There's something wrong with my game. Due to my complete ignorance about computers and things, I don't know how widespread it is, but that isn't massively important given that it is at least affecting my main legacy house in the actual original neighbourhood.
(Minor) Problem 1: Alvin's grave has gone and his picture doesn't show up in his thumbnail on the family tree either. We have lost Alvin :/
(Major) Problem 2: My game keeps crashing. Now I'm familiar to glitches from my game and the very rare crash here and there, but this kind is entirely different from every other crash I've had.
I'll be playing the house as normal and it'll be fine for quite a while, but then when I want to take a picture I'll use the free camera with tab, but then when I tab back out again everything except the side bar thing goes black. Which is weird, because the mouse icon will still change as I run it over different things, but I can't actually get it to click anything properly. The first time it happened I Ctrl-Alt-Deleted out of the game and then brought it back up, but that just made the entire screen, sidebar included, blue instead and I couldn't get it to work again. Basically, if I want to take pictures I'd probably have to take one per time I started up the whole game >.<
I'm not sure what's caused it really. I've downloaded a lot recently, but all that was either really well known behaviour and global mods (inteen, triplets & quads and a lot of minor Pescado fixes), and wedding clothes and items. And I did a load of photoshooting just a few days ago and it was fine, and I think the only thing I've picked up since then is triplets and quads. I guess next time I play I can try taking that out, but it's a common mod so I would have thought this problem would have been noticed by now.
And even if it is linked to any of that, is the Alvin thing just a coincidence? Has the Alvin thing caused the other problem or are they both symptomatic of the same problem?
To be honest, I'm not really surprised I'm having all these issues; if anything I'm surprised it hasn't come up before now - I'm still puzzled by that time I opened Sean and Opal's lot and a townie bypasser randomly had a computer stuck through them, and that was over a year ago now.
So yeah, I can do some more experimenting on Tuesday, but if anybody knows about what the problem might be and how to stop it without me having to go from lot to lot and neighbourhood to neighbourhood, that would be amazing.
Edit: Actually, most especially, the question is; is this a neighbourhood thing (I'm guessing it's more than just a household thing since Alvin is eventually on every extended Ryman's family tree if you look for long enough), or is it a whole game thing? I wonder if I should just get a whole new laptop and start afresh recreating the neighbourhood there rather than recreating it all on this laptop just before it properly craps out on me *sigh*
