Myshuno claim! “We can’t keep sending him there.”
“He needs to learn to deal with it, to deal with other people. The problem’s not going to go away by avoiding it.”
“But he’s upset every day, he’s not going to learn anything and it could do more harm than good!”
“It’s the only school in Simfield, Everett, what do you suggest?” Neither of them would want to send him further away, and Hideki Tang was still out there somewhere…
“Home-schooling.”
It took Tia a moment to reconcile what she heard with his easy attitude about it. “Who by?” The smartest person Tia knew was her father, but he was busy with his cousin Elliot and the efforts to find Hideki Tang, as was her Aunt Lydia and most anyone with any useful knowledge or ability. You couldn’t expect anyone to be able to spare that kind of time anymore. Not for an over-sensitive child. “I don’t know who we could possibly ask-!”
“We could do it.”
“’We’?”
“Well, obviously one of us would still have to work, but we aren’t hard-up for money, we could get by on one salary.”
Tia stared. It wasn’t untrue, but… “So are you volunteering?”
“Well, I thought that, since you were homeschooled for a while, it would only make sense…"
"I really don't think this'll work."
