High School chaos has begun

School dosent even start for another week yet we are already running around playing "taxi tag" with various practices.

Oldest Kidling opted to have a simple Senior year, she took several of her core classes over the summer so all she has for classes is things she *wants* to take. Of course I look at her schedule and am mind boggled. Calculus, physics, history of language... and of course the "fun" things like art, theater, computer animation. She opted to not to band this year so that she didnt have the hectic and crazy school schedule she has had the last 4 years (8th thru 11th grades) with marching band.

Youngest kidling of course has had 2-a-days with band/guard the last 3 weeks. Oh, and the guard has to have 133 flags sewn by Aug 30th!!! Me and a few other Mom's are at the school this week sewing like a 3rd world country sweat shop. Silk and lame' on 6 foot flags. AARRGGHHH. HOwever, for what its worth the band and guards looks AWSOME this year. They were great last year but this year they are kicking ass and taking names. The new band director we have has really got the kids motivated. And acomplishing this in Texas triple digit heat is not an easy feat. They sound wonderful already and look like they have been practicing months not weeks.

Of course I need to start planning now before school has even started on homecoming mums. I mean hey with Oldest Kidling being a senior she needs a cool homecoming mum. Of course Younges Kidling needs a cool mum too, but something about your last HS Homecoming lends itself to needing that huge "you need a coathanger hidden in your blouse to hold it up" senior mum. I need to plan this now. LOL.

kidlings, high school
