And We're Back!
We made it home last night from our week long vacation to California. Here's the recap:
Saturday, March 1st
Flew into Ontario, CA, met up with family (grandparents, cousins, etc.) Had lunch and chatted up with the family. Then drove to hotel and crashed..
Sunday, March 2nd
Drove to Anaheim from Ontario, dropped rental car off. Dropped off luggage at hotel, and went to Disneyland. Started in the California Adventure part. Rode rides, ate food, left early because we were exhausted and sunburned. Highlights = Soarin California, Grizzly River, and the Monster Inc Ride
Monday, March 3rd
Woke up and went back to Disneyland. Went to almost all rides in Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, and Toon Town. Watched Jedi Academy, ate, rode a ton of rides, watched parade. Highlights = Monorail, Space Mountain (extra scary), Parade
Tuesday, March 4th
Disneyland again, rode rides, ate food. Went to Frontierland, Adventureland, New Orleans, the rest of Tomorrowland, and Critter Country. Highlights = Big Thunder Railroad (rode it 3-4 times) Splash Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones Ride, meeting Jasmine, Buzz Lightyear Ride.
Wednesday, March 5th
Got rental car again, and drove out to Universal Studios, sat in traffic both ways, then went to Dave and Busters for dinner. Highlights = Mummy Ride, Jurassic Park Ride, Shrek and Terminator Rides, pictures with Marilyn Monroe, studio tour, ambushed by Frankenstein, winning over 3,000 tickets at Dave and Busters.
Thursday, March 6th
Drove to Knotts Berry Farm, didnt spend much time there due to Gary not feeling well. Went on like 2 rides. Went to outdoor mall in Orange, CA, shopped, went to Virgin Records Store. Highlights = El Torrito dinner, Bubba the big Koi fish,
Friday, March 7th
Gary's Birthday - Got up really early and rode train to San Diego, dropped luggage off and caught bus to San Diego Zoo, spent the whole day at the Zoo, had dinner at an expensive Seafood Restaurant, and went for a dip in hotel's jacuzzi that had view of city skyline. Highlights = Komodo dragons, all the animals were sleeping!!
Saturday, March 8th
Checked out of hotel, headed to Seaworld, checked out the animals, headed back, got luggage and went to Airport, flew home.. Highlights = feeding seals, feeding flamingos, jellyfish, dolphins, orcas, sharks, penguins, missing warm weather..
And that concludes the trip..
