Something I saw in the latest recycling newsletter from the City of Cambridge: there are now two services that do food-waste pickup (for a monthly fee), and then give you back compost (if you want it). SoilCycle covers Cambridge and Somerville; Bootstrap Compost covers "Greater Boston".

Yesterday tinctoris, idlewild_, and I looked at a house that was our #1 on the candidate list. It was a pretty good fit for what we want and need except for the fact that the first floor gave idlewild_ an asthma attack.

It's looking more and more like the best thing to do with Edgewood is turn it into two condos. I know that some of you have experience with this -- such as ceo and gosling. Are you really moving?

Yes. I'm moving in with tinctoris and idlewild_. Things with them are fantastic and solid and we collectively can't wait to start building a life together. The lease on their apartment is up at the end of July, so that's the hoped-for timeline.

Edgewood is looking to get our house assessed for its current value, given the fluctuating market and the renovations we've done. There may be a re-financing in the cards soon, so we'd like someone who will tell us straight up the same answer they would give the bank. Any recommendations?
