Welcome Party IV
The fourth "Welcome to That Kind of Party Party" is scheduled for March 23 at The Briar Patch (barring any outcry to this post regarding competing events)! For those of you who didn't hear about the previous Welcome Parties, this is an event designed to introduce people who have not been to (m)any play/sex parties to the scene. People who are experienced public players but new to the area are also welcome! As are, of course, people who are "old hands". Past parties have been around 30% "newbs", which seemed to work well.
The event has two parts. Part 1 is a workshop between 4 and 6 pm that covers the basics of party etiquette and kinky interactions. This also allows people to tour the space before the party and get to know each other. Part 2 is the party itself, starting at 8 pm. Attendance at the workshop is mandatory for "newbs" and optional for everyone else. People are also welcome to come to just the workshop if they want an intro but find the idea of a party too overwhelming.
Official invites will likely go out at the beginning of March. In the meantime, though, if you'd like to be invited or would like to nominate a "newb", please let me know! I'll need names and email addresses, which you can send to my LJ email.
