"Insanity runs in my family. It practically gallops." - Cary Grant

Long story short, my week of house sitting next week might be a week of babysitting then house sitting. Of fucking course. Kathy's boss had a stroke when we was on holidays I the sounds and because it took a while to get back into civilisation and get medical help has meant he's now in a coma and they aren't sure if he'll make it. Her boss also happens to be the father of Paul's boss' wife so both have had to cover at work so aren't sure if they can get the week off and go away or if they need to stay because of a funeral or what not. At least Kathy asked me if it was okay to head in regardless and to maybe stay extra if they don't get to leave for the Bach on Sunday but leave a few days later. But when my brother rung earlier in the week he made it sound so much more complicated and pretty much gathered I would go up regardless, no asking me if that was alright. That is what pisses me off. It's the not asking but just assuming or just organising what will happen then just tell us that we are expected to look after their children in the holidays. Asking gets you so much further. But if they don't go away I'm only looking after the kids for a week, if they want any longer they can pay for us to bus back down here. I'm not wasting my time in Chch to look after then.

It's a pain though if I don't get to just house sit. I had all my trips to the malls and other places I wanted to go to all sorted out, madmen plans with people to catch up, downloaded a fuckload of to shows (The Wire, Veronica Mars, Falling Skies), packed a pile of DVDs (Star Wars trilogy, Day of the Darleks, Firefly) and books (Harry potter and the Goblet of Fire, The First Casualty, Room, plus all my iBooks library on my iPad) to watch and read while I'm up there seeing as I won't be able to download anything up when I'm up (How can I live that without seeing the final of Sherlock on Monday or miss 2 weeks of shows! My download schedule will be mammoth when I get back). I had it all planned and I was really looking forward to being on my own in Chch for a week. But now it could all be cancelled. All the window shopping may not get done *sign*. Nothing my brother says or plans ever works out.

Haven't done much this week. Went out to Maggie's place on Tuesday while mum and dad were out in Temuka for a bit. Today I went to lunch with artic_fox drive around the Scenic/Country roads and Point area for the last time because she flys out back to London! not to be seen again to who knows when. Then I cam home and procrastinated in packing but finally packed the bag. Think I have more food than anything in there seeing as there is not proper food in their house. I'm all for healthy eating but there is only so much celery or carrots a girl can eat. Tomorrow Maggie and Sarah are suppose to be coming in but Sarah will pull her usual tricks but hopefully they come in for a coffee. Other than that my week has been spent watching Jericho. God I forgot how much I loved that show! Finally good to see the end of the show (which makes the comics make more sense now). I had watch about the first half of season 1 then went to the states for Camp and because back then there wasn't so many options for recording or online watching etc I never got to watch the rest or season 1 and season 2 never screened here. Skeet Ulrich really deserves a better career than he's had!

Anyhow I'm just procrastinating from reading more the Mad About the Boy. This book is torture to read. if you are a Bridget jones fans! it's probably a good idea to not read it. Even if Mark Darcy wasn't killed off, I don't think he would even save this book!
