While this is all over FB I haven't seen it on LJ, so here it is:
We’re greatly saddened to report the premature passing of artist and designer Kent Elofson. A native of Norwalk CA and resident of Pasadena, Kent’s career began at the Disneyland Character Department, portraying Peter Pan for many years before transitioning to the Art Department and Imagineering, where he lent his artistry to legendary attractions such as Peter Pan’s Flight, Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin, and the elegant redesign of It’s A Small World for Disneyland Paris. Following his assignment art directing Snoopy Land at Universal Japan, Kent (like many in these difficult times) found employment elusive, and turned to freelancing as a costumer and tailor, winning many awards for his masterful ComiCon outfits. His close friends -- who are legion -- are shocked and saddened that he didn't reach out for help before taking his own life at home on May 18, 2012. Authorities are seeking out his immediate family, but he is already mourned by his friends, largely drawn from the Renaissance Faire community. Kent was 59.
