Honestly, I did not post that as an anti-Obama piece. I am 'on board'.
I see it more as a warning of a trend that is reaching its zenith in American political life: the virtual candidate.
Bageant - who is a better writer than his anonymous friend - speaks of the overall construct in The Simulacran Republic and Adam Curtis goes into the same in great depth in The Century of The Self.
Of course, the endless demand for More Productivity, the distractions of Celebutainment, and The Wars on Terror, Drugs, and Sex all prevent must Americans from paying attention to such things.
