1. Reply to this post and I'll assign you a letter.
2. List (and upload, if you feel like it) 5 songs that start with that letter.
3. Post that to your journal with these instructions.
I got "C." In no particular order:
1. Can't Finish What You Started-Motion City Soundtrack
I always thought Weezer was the shiznit. Then I heard MCS. I love Justin Pierre's voice, and his lyrics are heartbreaking and funny. I also dig the breakdown part here in this song, where it oddly resembles the breakdown of "Forever" by Kenny Loggins haha!
2. Cold Water-Damien Rice
I've been listening to a lot of acoustic/soul/singer-songwriter stuff: Ray Lomantagne, Amos Lee, Andrew Bird... but Damien Rice is the biggest loser of em all, and I mean that in the most endearing way possible. I was thinking of putting in 'Cannonball', but I like this song more.
3. Caroline-Concrete Blonde
I've never been to fond of goth music, yet I found myself playing the whole 'Bloodletting' album over and over again for about a whole year. One of the first albums I've had where I never skipped a song. And James Mankey's country-style chicken-picking leads on a goth album is gold.
4. Chase This Light- Jimmy Eat World
This, from the band's latest CD of the same title, is as catchy as hell. Not everyone likes the new album, but personally this is the JEW sound that I love; punchy chorus, soaring vocals,
and a whole lot of emo.
5. Control Freak-Copeland
A bit of Ben Folds, a bit of Radiohead, a little Travis, and you got Copeland. All the tracks on this album, 'Eat, Sleep, Repeat', are excellent. The only reason this song is the one on this list is that it's the only one that starts with a 'c'.
