All Romance E-books has been running an interesting writing contest with a TERRIFIC first prize: $1000. Now, that's quite a bit of money for a 3000-word piece, and it's understandable that all the writers were pretty hot to win it.
One writer was hot enough to buy votes with free stories for people who voted for her. And she posted it all over many Yahoo groups, and she got all the way to the final round.
So, vote for Victoria Blisse and First Time Fang Bang and you will get 2 free reads as a thank you. This is not news but if I get to 500 votes I will give away FIVE personalised thousand word short stories to people who have emailed to let me know they have voted.
The day before the last round was over, somebody must have slapped her on the wrist, because she amended it to "vote for anybody" and I'll send you free stories ... but I have to wonder, would she have made it that far without bribing voters?
If I were ARe, I would disqualify her. But they didn't. She's in the final round, and she's ahead.
I have already voted for The Fortune Teller, by Selena Kitt. Because as far as I know, Ms. Kitt has not bought her votes.
