Well this weekend Jay and I babysat Tucker, Jay's mom's dog. WOW! I forgot what it was like to have a puppy. I did not sleep at ALL Friday night. He would not go to sleep. He'd be up to check out every little sound and then couldn't get back on the bed, so he'd whine till you put him back on the bed. Of course he'd just jump off again in 30 minutes to check something out, and we'd repeat the cycle. If you tried to ignore him he'd start whining, yelping, and barking. I had to be up for work at 6 am on Saturday so i was pretty much a miserable fuck. Saturday he calmed down and stopped flipping out if he couldn't see a human. On Friday he literally needed to be held or see you. If he couldn't at least see you he would cry and bark like you were beating him to death. At least he stopped whining even when he could see you and wasn't being held. Saturday night I took him over to Mary's for movies and to make him stay up later. I REALLY wanted him to sleep. Sunday he was alright. He let Jay sleep and was good all day. Not to say he was bad. It must have been pretty scary to suddenly be without mom and dad. I'm not mad at him for his behavior on Friday, but i wish he'd have let me sleep.
The boys are really glad he's gone. He would mostly ignore the cats unless the freaked out, and then he was all up in their shit. Tucker would also get really pissed if you were petting a cat and not him. Needless to say 13 and Sarge have been all over me since he left. Having Tucker here really made me appreciate my boys that much more. Sarge's "mattress game" seems like nothing compared to Tucker's endless whining Friday night.
