Well...there is a little story behind this creation.

I was reading for my cello pedagogy class - Gerhard Mantel's CELLO TECHNIQUE: Principals & Forms of Movement - when I cam across the above quote...

"Mistakes are not failures but conditions of learning."

And all I could think about were those inspirational posters teachers put on walls that say things like "hang in there," with a cat hanging off a branch. I proceeded to think that it's be funny if I could find a picture like that and add in the quote.

Google image search for "kitten" brought up the above image - and I added the border and words.

I sent it to Nick - who sent it to Carrera - who sent it to the rest of the Music School faculty - and even Carter Brey (who, if you don't remember, is the principal cellist of the New York Philharmonic).

Carrera also put it on the desktop of his computer and printed it out to put on his door.

What a day.
