So I was trawling through friends-of-friends-of-friends' lists, looking for something decent to read (is it just me, or has there been a dearth of goodfic lately?) and I came across an old familiar favorite: the first line music meme. I haven't done one of these in, like, forever. Mostly because its been at least that long since I've had any playlists close to hand. But I've been on a slightly dodgy music acquisition kick lately, and it really wasn't much effort at all to dump them all into a master playlist, hit shuffle, and see what got spit back out.

THE RULES

Poster: go to your music library (pc, mp3 player, stack of CDs sitting in the corner so long as you've also got a d20 close to hand...), roll said die or select a playlist (easiest if its your longest or most generic list), hit random/shuffle, and write down the first line, excluding any introductory non-song bits, of the first twenty songs to play by 20 different artists. Also exclude instrumentals, songs not in [the dominant language of your Flist], and songs where the first line reveals the title.

Flist: comment with your guesses for the artist/song. Note that some songs are going to be covers, or have been covered by any and all number of artists. So any title/relevant artist combo will do for those. Also, sometimes the first lines are so short as to be nearly useless, so some liberties have been taken with regards to length. Comments will be screened until just about everything is guessed (because there's always at least one song no one else seems to know but you). Google is cheating.
