I am taking a much-needed break from a very busy evening.
I am in the middle of washing clothes, vacuuming up enough cat hair to knit about 3 sweaters, killing spiders, organizing, recycling, throwing things out, washing dishes, trying to pack, and trying to think of other miscellaneous things I need to do before I leave. I already post-dated my rent check and put it in the drop box, and I gave my bank account # to my boss so he can direct-deposit my paycheck (money to spend would be nice). I can't think of what else I should do. Oh hell, I need to mail Lauren that CD. I'll do it when I get back to Michigan I guess.
My entire apartment still smells like smoke because I was burning stuff in my fireplace earlier, and the flue closed by itself just as I had a big healthy fire going. A bunch of ashes shot up at me and I jumped back shouting expletives. Smoke was billowing everywhere so I dumped a bunch of water on the fire, re-opened the flue, opened my door and put the fan on high. I was silently wishing that the smoke suffocated off some of these damn spiders.
I really let this place go. SO MUCH needs cleaning. It's better now, but there used to be so much shit everywhere. Every time I would want to clean, I would get discouraged and I was always tempted to go get one of the blowers from work, bring it back here and fire it up. Hahahahha. That thought is so hilarious to me. Just blow all the crap into a corner. "There!"
I'm going to be flying all day tomorrow. I'm leaving around 10 in the morning from Seattle, I have a layover in Minneapolis, and I am arriving in Chicago around 6:22 CT. I usually just fly straight to Chicago but this was a cheaper fare. So I'll be arriving in South Haven probably no later than 10 pm ET. That's a lot of travel time. That's okay, I travel so much in my life that I am made of patience. Hawaii, Costa Rica and Ireland were both much longer flights.
