San Diego & Tijuana
Color: Tijuana (Mexico), Coronado Island
Black & White: Pacific Beach, San Diego Miscellany

You are now entering Mexico.

This is actually from Alden's camera, but I took this shot. Tijuana is falling apart. People live in pretty much whatever they can find. This is when we got lost trying to find the road that led back to America. I'm great with navigation, but even I had a hard time down there. Mexico is one confusing maze.

We followed the signs for "Enseneda Scenic Road" which wasn't really a scenic road at all, but it led to las playas (the beaches). There were plenty of little cafes along the beachfront where they sold halved coconuts and tacos. Dogs roamed everywhere, and so did mariachi bands.

Alden (corradokid) on a Tijuana beach. We originally planned on walking over the border, but missed the last USA exit to do so. Needless to say, he was wary of driving into Mexico, and refused to let his car leave his eyesight. But wait... psst... hey Alden, you're not watching the Corrado.

Yours truly, on the same beach.

Coronado Bay Bridge

Crystal Pier

People rent the houses on the pier. I'm sure the rent is like $23498273491798164141/second

It was unseasonably gloomy and cold, but that didn't stop these guys.

Alden

I took way too many pictures of birds on piers.

See what I mean?

Make it stop, please.

Hillcrest - San Diego's gay district. There are cool signs like this as you enter each district of the city. Admittedly, I took this photo from the car.

Lestat's Coffee House - named after a bisexual vampire in an Anne Rice novel. Gothic/Victorian decor on the inside.

A rubber chicken on the back of a semi on the 405.

This is Alden's sweet machine, a dark green '90 VW Corrado. He even let me drive it, briefly.
